Jake was speaking to teenagers at a youth retreat while Josiah and I sat and listened. Every five seconds, Josiah would stop me and ask about a word from Jake's message. "What does pollution mean? What does destroy mean? What does pollute mean? What does..." I could hardly get an answer before he would fire away at the next question. While this turned into a bit of a game for him, I think he was truly interested, and he really was internalizing several of the words' meanings. He told me a couple of days later, "That water is dirty, mommy. It's polluted."
His mind growth-spurt, continued for a few days after we returned. I regularly get up around 5:30 am to feed Eli. On this particular morning, though, Josiah was awake, and he was mumbling a question to me. I came over to his bedside and asked him to repeat the question. "What does eventually mean, mommy?" Seriously?! Why was he thinking about the word eventually at 5 in the morning!
Josiah cracks us up with his vocabulary. He got into trouble the other day and told me, "You make me feel scared, frightened, and embarrassed " Oh my.
This above story has absolutely nothing to do with the pictures below. Here he wanted to dress up in his super-hero cape.
We haven't really introduced him to super-heroes yet, so he is pretending to be Super Grover from Sesame Street.
He was running all around the house.
Until he finally crashed and came inside for dinner!.
