PT Update

If you look closely at this picture, you may notice one thing...  We quit.

Yes, Josiah has been back in diapers for about two weeks now, and we are done with hard-core, pants-less potty-training!  We stopped mostly because this boy did NOT care about potty training; plus, it was wearing me out! At the beginning, we had a handful of small victories when he told me he had to go potty, but then things quickly digressed, and he became obstinate about even trying to use the potty.  In about one week, we went from an "I love the potty!" attitude to "Why must I always have my playtime interrupted just to go and sit on this crazy potty seat?!  I don't want to!"

And guess what?  Now that we "quit," Josiah suddenly likes his potty again.  He is asking to use the potty more and more.  He hasn't gone number 2 in his diaper all week.  Also, since we stopped pushing this potty business, Josiah's bed time has been much later because he insists on sitting on the potty for, oh, ten/fifteen minutes each night.  [Seriously, we have to make the kid get off!]

My type-A personality thought our little version of potty training boot camp was the answer.  However, I am liking this new easy-going approach much better!  It may take longer, but I really don't need a power struggle over potty-training when the boy isn't even two yet!
