April Vacation

The week before last, Jake had a week off for April vacation.  We had big hopes to spend a couple of nights in Boston for a little get-away, but a few factors kept us from finding hotel prices within our price range (way to go Boston marathon runners!).  Anyway, we still had a fun and productive week together spent, for the most part, close to home.

A few of the week's happenings are as follows...
Josiah got to show daddy his beloved "library book" (that's Josiah's version of library), and afterwards Josiah was thrilled to play on a really nice, new playground.  Our friends had a baby--welcome baby Atticus!  We cleaned our carpets, the upholstery on our couches/chairs, and vacuumed/shampooed our cars.  [Talk about a worth it project.  Our old carpets still look shabby, but everything feels so clean now!]  We washed our cars.  And Jake even got a little bit of web work out of the way.

We also went to the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston.  It had a really nice indoor gorilla exhibit, featuring several showy gorillas.  Most of the gorillas were either snoozing or parading around right in front of the glass.  We also liked the lion, who was very noisy, but each time we came near, he would stop his roaring! Here are some pictures from the zoo.
