Here are some favorites I thought I'd share with you (most relate to mom stuff, so guys, you may want to skip this!)
Hair Emergency
In that awful moment when your pony tail holder breaks and you don't have an extra one, keep this in mind!
Bargains for Kids
I recently got tons of clothes and shoes for the boys at RUUM. It was DIRT cheap and fairly good quality. If you do purchase things, don't forget to look for an online promo code. It was Labor Day weekend when I placed my order, so I got 40% off clearance items!
We Give Books
I like to hop on this website when I don't have time to go to the library. Check out We Give Books. You can read their collection of books for free covering ages 2-8. They have a few well-known titles too (Llama Llama books, Skippyjon Jones, etc). We love the story of Otis.
Grooveshark
Have you come across Grooveshark yet? It is a site that allows you to make playlists of music. On the downside, their selection of music is hit or miss. However, you'd be surprised at what gems you'll find. I have several playlists (especially for the kids), such as Thomas the Tank Engine music and stories that we listen to when Josiah plays trains, clean-up songs, Patch the Pirate, some random phonics songs that are really good, and many more.
Kid Games We Like
Think, Roll, and Play : Best for 2-3 year olds. Helps teach colors, counting, and more. Josiah loved it!
Animal Upon Animal by Haba : Purchased this for a Christmas present from Haba. I'd say, Josiah won't be good at it until he's at least 4. I even think an 8 or 9 year old would enjoy this game! I've read good things about this game too.
Colorful Caterpillar Game: Really helped Siah learn his colors. Great for teaching fine motor skills too (it's a lacing game).
Sensory Bins and Water Beads
I have been trying my best to keep Josiah occupied and purposeful with his day. He seems to stay out of more trouble that way! If I need a good hour to get dinner cooked or whatever, a sensory bin is a good thing to put in front of him. I'm trying to keep costs down. So far, I've made 4 bins and spent no more than $15 on a construction bin, magnetic bin, forest bin, and an ocean bin. I've mostly used things I have around the house. Even if you don't do sensory bins, I would recommend checking out some water beads. Ours showed up last week, and they are really cool! (I even spent some time playing with them!)
