Andrew Makes Five

No Black Friday shopping for us this year!  We had a good excuse.

Andrew Emmanuel joined our family at 9:28 am on Friday, November 28th.  He arrived 3 weeks early (I blame it on the beds.).  Little Andrew was 5 lbs 14 oz. and 19 inches long.

He came a lot slower than our other boys.  We arrived at the hospital a little around 1:30 am, and I was so afraid they were going to send me home despite having awful contractions.  Thankfully, the Lord worked that out, and after walking, praying, and waiting, I progressed enough to "earn" a room.

His brothers were so happy to meet him later that evening.  Eli was not shy.  He hopped right up on the bed to give Andrew his present, a Jellycat puppy (the blue thing).  He just wanted to poke, poke, poke.... and lick him (proof a couple of photos down).   Josiah, on the other hand, took his time warming up.

Josiah did, however, have strong opinions about his name.  Earlier, Jake had talked to Josiah on the phone and told him the name of his baby brother (we hadn't revealed it yet).  Jake asked what he thought about the name, to which Josiah replied, "Uh, I don't like it.  His name is David."

Andrew hadn't had a bath yet, and Eli did this.

The FIRST time we really got a good look at Andrew's eyes was when his brothers barged in the room.  He immediately opened his eyes.  I think he knew their voices.  ...Poor thing had no idea what he was in for with his two wild brothers at home!

And here was sweet Andrew before his first car ride home.  He was so sweet and calm my entire hospital stay.
