Grandma Lee

"When I grow old I hope to be
As beautiful as Grandma Lee
Her hair is soft and fluffy white.
Her eyes are blue and candle bright.
And down her cheeks are cunning piles,
Of little ripples when she smiles."

by Rose Henderson

We first came across this poem in a book at the library, and it couldn't be more perfect to describe our Grandma Lee!

Grammer came to visit in early January and was the utmost help to us all.  She mostly took care of the older two and saw that they were read to and kept busy with lots of fun activities.  Spoiled they were.

We didn't leave the house much at all while she was around!  In fact, we were in hibernation because the weather was quite frigid!  We had sub-zero temps and even woke up one morning to no water because the pipes were frozen!

This set with Josiah has to be my favorite.  He kept her very busy with book after book.  This was a new book she brought from the Moesner's.

Caught little Andrew with smooshy baby lips.  He gave his first smiles shortly before she arrived at 5 weeks.

Eli loves to pull up a chair next to Andrew and read to him.  Eli really loves his baby brother.  However, we have to watch him like a hawk when he's with Andrew lest he smother his brother.  If this is any clue, his favorite line these days is, "Can I touch him?"

This is what it means to be a mom of three boys.  You find surprises like this all the time.  I taught the boys to make animal footprints in Play-dough.  Eli taught me that T-Rex gets hungry when Play-dough is present.

Breakfast with Grammer before she left.  Eli was quite upset that she was leaving on a plane!

And here is the quilt she made for Andrew.  Nautical and perfect for our New England baby!
