A Special Snow

We had a lot of snow during the winter of 2015.  But the little dusting shown here was a very special snow--the first of the season and an answer to prayer for a little boy.

It was my first day braving errands with all three kids by myself, a daunting task in itself.  I hoped to make a quick trip into Savers to find a play coat and snowsuit for Eli.  As soon as we began our walk to the kids' clothing aisle, I was stopped by a little Portuguese lady.  I figured she would ask the usual question, "Do you know the [sale] colors for today?"  Instead, in a thick accent, she asked if I had a coupon.  I said that I did not, and she proceeded to hand me a 30% off  coupon.  A few minutes later she found me again (I'm sure she was looking for me as I was down near the floor addressing the boys with something).  She then proceeded to hand me $20 to spend on the boys in memory of her mother.  The boys and I thanked the Lord for sending that nice gift when we got in the car!   They got Happy Meals and some much needed clothes (a snowsuit for one, which will be important later in my story).   After another quick errand at Target, we were sitting in the car.  Josiah reached up to turn down the music, knelt down over the middle-console, and whispered,  "Dear God, please send a snow storm.  In Jesus name, Amen."  That night I woke up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water.  I looked out the kitchen window, only to see a thin blanket of snow that God sent just for Josiah.    Then a few days later He sent a huge snow storm!  Josiah was able to attribute both snowfalls to the Lord answering His prayers. People at church even asked him to stop praying for snow.  It always amazes me how the Lord answers prayers for my children in a way that speaks to them!  He is so full of goodness.
