September 2015 and Andrew 10 Months

Boxes, boxes.  Everywhere.  Forever.
We closed on Thursday, August 27th and moved the next day into our fixer-upper.  Jake started school the following Monday.  Andrew and I got terribly sick the following week, and the older boys proceeded to get even sicker in the weeks to follow.  Bedrooms weren't ready for quite some time, so Jake and I slept on couches downstairs, and the boys slept upstairs.  The Lord was teaching me patience through this chaotic time!

We had a little reprieve during Labor Day weekend.   We set aside our screw drivers and paint brushes and went on a family hike down the road at the Freetown State Forest.

The boys were letting me listen to the sound coming from their mouths.  I gave them each a package of Pop Rocks.

We found lots of fresh blueberries along the trail.  It sure puts the difference of seasons into perspective when you consider how blueberries ripen in June in Indiana and September in Massachusetts!

Here was Josiah's first day of Kindergarten.

I let the boys enjoy a random collection of instruments left from my teaching days.  They had a blast playing them in their new yard!

Sharing sure does stink!

He was pleased as punch that he could make the drill work!

Andrew finished up September as a 10 month old.   It was normal for Andrew to be gone exploring in the maze of boxes.   He was so, so happy getting into everything!  Occasionally I would hear him cry and find him--legs up in the air--stuck in a box.   He was still our cuddliest baby yet.  When we rocked and asked him to lay down, he would lay his head down on us.  He started to pull up, and couldn't resist the urge to throw all books off the shelf.  He is saying more first words.   When he wanted food, he would say "Mmmmm, Mmmmm, Mmmm!"  He also had a sweet little habit of laying down his head when eating so we could kiss his head.

We visited the Farmer's Market.  The boys were eating their apples and watching a cooking demonstration.

These two have had the best time with each other.  All of their toys feel brand new after being packed up, and playing dress-up takes on new meaning when you have towering boxes at your finger-tip for scene changes!  In this case they were laying eggs in their blanket-nests of course!

They learned where the best puddles were in our driveway and found a neighbor friend.

They can't stop talking about how much they love their new house.
