Goofball

This picture is Eli in a nutshell.  He had just woken up, and this is how I found him--our little goofball.

Eli has been known to jump and fall on his bottom just like you would jump on a trampoline.  However, he'll do it on carpeted floors, concrete floors, or anything really.  He thinks this is so funny.

Eli gets in trouble for giving licks instead of kisses.

He can often be found bouncing on top of Josiah while Josiah screams, "He thinks I'm a real horse, but I'm not!".

Eli can smile, laugh, or find a joke in just about any situation.

Here are a few more random things about Eli right now.

Eli loves to sing.  Josiah was quite a singer at this age too.  Josiah was creative with his made up words and tunes.  Eli, however, sings his little heart out.  He sings loud.  He draws out his notes.  He is one of the loudest singers at church.  He'll sing along with pretty much anyone.  My favorite is when he sings along with one of Josiah's completely made-up songs (words and tune) like he's been singing it his whole life.

One of his favorite pretend games to play with little action figures or animals is the "Where Are You?" game.  He will move the figure around the table, while exclaiming in a deep voice, "Wha-aw you mommy?!  Mommy!  Mommy!  Wha-aw you?"

Oddly, my quirky Eli is the one who is most attached to routines.  For instance, if he wants a drink of milk while he's holding his blanket and pacifier, he'll always, always hand me his pacifier and blanket first.  You will often hear him saying "Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!" if something is not according to proper procedure.

Eli finally treats regular books more respectfully, and here are a few of his favorite big-boy books: Blueberries for Sal, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (and others in that series), Usborne's Farmyard Tales, and Richard Scarry books.
