Jake's good friend Casey, flew up with his new bride, Erica, Veterans Day weekend. On Saturday evening we checked off one of the items on my New England Bucket List, WaterFire in Providence, RI.
Here's some of our group outside of our apartment before we left.
We ate at Not Your Average Joe's--one of our favorite restaurants.
Then we headed to WaterFire, which is a festival in downtown Providence that begins at nightfall. They light bonfires in the canal by boat. It was nice to walk along the canal and smell the aromatic wood burning. I enjoyed browsing through some of the local artisan's booths too. I have a feeling many of them trotted down the hill with their belongings. If you know Providence geography, two notable schools, Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University, are nearby.
Jake was sporting his No-Shave November beard. In fact when he reads this, he will probably have just been reminiscing about his beloved, late facial hair! [wink, Jake!]
WaterFire turned out to be a fun little adventure, and Jake and I would like to go back with the kids next time around. Definitely something fun to do if YOU visit us in the fall! SO COME!!!
