October:
We had LOTS of friends visit in the fall: the Stoudts, Shakarjis, Keysers, Silas Schaeffer, Justin Joseph, and Josiah Hartley. Plus, Jake started his grad classes, which meant BUSY, BUSY!
I always like to visit a local orchard or farm in the fall months. This year, however, we just sort of hopped in the car and went because we realized it would be our only spare Saturday! We went to Keith's Orchard in Acushnet two years ago, which was special because we had just found out I was expecting little Eli!
This time around was COLD, windy, and very dry. The wind blew big dust clouds around. We took shelter next to the chickens while we waited for our hay ride. The boys came in "costume" (as in we threw some dress-up clothes on them) and got free hay rides; it was just before Halloween. You can see part of Eli's dinosaur outfit. Josiah wore his cowboy get-up for about five seconds.
Jake's great Aunt Gilda knit Eli's sweet sweater! She is an amazing knitter!
Josiah had even more of a blast this year admiring the tractors and farm machinery.
Here was the DRY pumpkin patch. The boys ran around and fell in the dirt a lot.
The boys were happy to see a real Tractor Mac (a favorite book series).
And of course they had some apples and we brought some apple cider home.
