Here we are at our favorite local beach, Demarest Lloyd State Park.
It's our favorite because...
a baby can crawl around in the water for hundreds and hundreds of yards during low tide. Basically it's the saltwater version of a huge wading pool.
and its waters are brimming with sea creatures--baby fish, periwinkles (EVERYWHERE), hermit crabs, horseshoe crabs, other crabs, clams, etc.
Notice all the periwinkles? Periwinkles are tiny sea snails. There are literally thousands alive and crawling all around in the water. It gets really gross when your baby puts them in his mouth!
Let's make plans for your visit, so you can enjoy this nice beach with us! :)
