Mr. Veto

This post is long overdue.  Still, I will let you meet a member of our family.  Many people do not know he exists; others have met him on rare occasions.

This is Mr. Veto.  Not Josiah, Mr. Veto.  (Or at least that's what Josiah will tell you.)  Around the time Eli was born, he adopted this alter ego.

Sometimes Mr. Veto comes around when Josiah's trying to be funny (the boy surely has a sense of humor!).  But  Mr. Veto usually surfaces when he's nervous.  We saw a lot of Mr. Veto at boy's camp.  When the director put a microphone in his face and asked what his names was, he introduced himself as Mr. Veto in front of all the boys at boys camp.  Even this past Sunday, he met someone new and told them his name was Mr. Veto--no surprise.

While we were away this summer with my family, I gleaned quite the profound statement from Josiah.  We had taken a break from jumping on the trampoline, we laid down, and he got to thinking.  Then he told me this:

"Mommy's a girl.  Daddy's a boy.  Josiah's Mr. Veto."

There you have it, guys and gals.  Mr. Veto.
