This fall has been a busy one, but in a different way. No, we really haven't taken any fun outings. But it has been a monotonous sort of busy. Jake took two history grad classes this semester, which meant a ridiculous amount of reading and writing. As a result, he's been at class or the library most evenings and weekends. My main task was to keep the boys busy, so they'd stay out of trouble and so I could stay sane! It consisted of: lots of walks in our neighborhood (especially before bed time when I'd make them run a loop!), walks to the playground, trips to the library, raking in our backyard, coupe and bike riding in the driveway, and miscellaneous activities around the house.
We went on a leaf walk one day and picked up the prettiest leaves we saw. (Nothing too crafty around this house! Usually just ideas I think up on the fly.)
Then we made headdresses, or crowns according to Josiah.
The boys got a little excited about trains especially because Eli earned a train station for potty training.
On a completely random note, I thought I'd take a photo to remember Josiah's "special box." It's an old cigar box. Here is a list of some of its contents: painted rocks, feathers, silly putty, deli number, pipe cleaner man, rocks, acorns, snail shell, leaf, pine cone, plastic arm, chapstick, small box.
